Recharging

wind-up-toys

even wind-up toys need to recharge

Some toys need batteries to run and when they run out the toys won’t work as effectively. Some toys need to have the continued inertia from being wound up. Some need the push of a human.
We need to realize that everyone needs different things to recharge. Some people need worship, some need quiet, some need laughter and joy. Don’t dismiss others’ recharging as separation or division because it’s not the same your own. It was cool to watch the bus naturally segregate to the needs. I noticed it and watched as one bounced back and forth because she recharges in multiple ways.
As a leader, we have to be careful that our needs and passions don’t cause us to lead others over a proverbial cliff. We have to think logistically as well as passionately. Yes we have to live out of passion, but as a leader we have to realize when enough is enough.
“We are fighting a spiritual battle. We need to get away from ourselves.” This not only applies to the followers, but also to the leaders as well. Ephesians 6 commands wives (followers) to submit to their husbands (leaders). Ever more so husbands (leaders) have to love their wives (followers) just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself for it.
Which means that as leaders, our desires have to become secondary to the mission and safety of the team. The overall mission is important but the itemized itinerary must become less important as the overall effectiveness and safety of the meeting.
Things broke down when communication failed to trickle down…. interesting group dynamic. It wasn’t always the leaders’ fault. It happened for multiple reasons. Sometimes the indians weren’t paying attention. Sometimes, the chiefs had to take care of other things.

Girls worshiping God for us at the Dorothy House Aug 12, 2012

Will have this image burned in my mind for a long time. The Dorothy house. 18 girls. Scared and trying to trust. Needing nothing more than love and a chance for a better life. God has protected them this far but what will happen later for them. I will never forget Bridget she didn’t want to let go of my hand.

I officially have all the money now

I have all the money now to go to Kenya Thursday. I’m so excited. If you still wish to help I have a list of things you can get cheaply and donate. I will be in the worship center @ water of life on Sunday where you can give me any of the items or even at our men’s on tuesday morning or small group on Wednesday night if you prefer.
Here’s the list and please pray for me!
